Invincible

2020 - ongoing

In Invincible, I explore the invisibility that often accompanies aging, especially for women. As I've grown older, I’ve become increasingly aware of how society begins to look past us, as though we fade into the background. This project is a personal response to that experience, rooted in the psychological notion of the “disappearing woman.” I walk the streets with my camera, seeking out moments of presence—of dignity, defiance, and grace—in older women who still choose to be seen.

Each portrait is a small act of resistance. The women I photograph wear bright colors, lipstick, scarves—simple choices that declare: I am here. The graphic bars over their eyes are not meant to censor, but to confront. They echo the ways we’re often overlooked, while also drawing attention to what remains unacknowledged. Through this work, I aim to celebrate visibility, to hold space for women who are so often edited out of the public eye—even as we continue to live, age, and assert our place in the world.
